The Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), is set to empower youths across the North-West with cutting-edge space technology skills through a Space-Tech Hackathon and VSAT training.
Scheduled for April 7–11 in Dutse, Jigawa, the program will bring together start-ups, innovators, and students from Kaduna, Kano, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina, and Jigawa to develop creative tech solutions.
NIGCOMSAT’s Managing Director, Jane Egerton-Idehen, said the hackathon will challenge participants to identify problems, create solutions, and build prototypes using satellite technology.
The winning team will secure a spot in the NIGCOMSAT Accelerator Programme Cohort 2025 to refine and scale their project.
Additionally, 100 youths will receive hands-on training in VSAT installation, equipping them with in-demand skills to enhance their job prospects and entrepreneurial opportunities in ICT.
This initiative aligns with NIGCOMSAT’s mission to drive innovation, job creation, and digital inclusion across Nigeria. Interested participants can register via the NIGCOMSAT Ltd website.
