The Federal Government has directed all Nigerian universities to implement Anthology Blackboard, a digital learning technology, by the end of 2025.
Minister of Education Maruf Tunji Alausa issued the directive during a meeting with vice chancellors in Abuja, urging institutions to embrace modern learning methods beyond traditional classroom settings.
Alausa stressed that universities must utilize ICT intervention funds to integrate the system, assuring that TETFund will support training efforts.
He emphasized that hybrid learning is key to overcoming security challenges and expanding access to higher education, noting that only 330,000 out of two million applicants gain admission annually.
He also urged universities to partner with private sector investors for student housing, warning that infrastructure constraints should not limit admissions.
