The Nigerian Army has captured two notorious kidnappers, Bashir Mohammed and Ismail Mohammad, during a raid in Plateau State.
The suspects were arrested on Saturday at a known kidnappers’ hideout in Bassa Local Government Area.
Acting on intelligence, troops stormed the Katume High Grounds where criminals allegedly kept hostages while negotiating ransoms.
Soldiers recovered an AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine during the operation.
The arrested suspects are now assisting in efforts to track down other gang members and recover more weapons.
The Army described the operation as a major success in the fight against insecurity in the region.
