By Jesusemen Oratokhai

A nurse who treated the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), has testified that he suffered complications after receiving a tetanus injection at his Lekki residence on September 12, 2023.

Testifying before Justice C.A. Shotobi at the Ikorodu Coroner’s Court, the nurse, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, revealed that Mohbad began vomiting and convulsing after the injection.

She briefly left to buy medication but returned to find him in distress.

Ogedengbe said she treated a swollen cut on his hand with a tetanus shot, paracetamol injection, and a slow dose of ceftriaxone.

His wife, Omowunmi, reportedly downplayed his reaction, calling it normal.

Realizing the severity, Ogedengbe and Ayobami Sodiq (a.k.a Spending) rushed to get anti-allergy medication but were delayed.

By the time they returned, Mohbad was being taken to a hospital—on a motorcycle due to traffic—where he was declared dead on arrival.

The case resumes on March 21, 2025. Ogedengbe and Sodiq face prosecution for reckless negligence, while Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy, and Mohbad’s former manager have been acquitted. Investigations continue.

By Njoku Chijioke

Controversial music star Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has knocked out fellow entertainer Darlington Okoye, also called Speed Darlington, in a heated boxing match tagged Chaos In The Ring.

The highly anticipated bout, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos and sanctioned by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control, ended in the first round with Portable sealing victory by technical knockout.

Organized by Game Rush and Balmoral Promotions, the celebrity showdown drew a packed crowd and featured the Board’s chairman, Rafiu Ladipo, among the dignitaries present.

The fight was the climax of a long-running online feud between the two artists, which began after Speed Darlington reportedly offered Portable N500,000 to perform at his show—an offer Portable dismissed as insulting.

What followed was a war of words that eventually spilled into the ring.

This marks Portable’s second boxing victory, his first being against actor Charles Okocha in December 2023.

With this latest triumph, the self-proclaimed “Street King” is quickly building a reputation beyond the music stage, leaving fans curious about who his next challenger will be.

Osupa Drops Case Against Portable, Demands Public Apology

Published

By Adenike Lawal

Fuji icon King Dr Saheed Osupa has called off his legal war with controversial street-hop act Portable, but not without setting firm conditions for peace.

The music veteran, who had earlier dragged Portable to court over criminal defamation, threats to life and character assassination, said the decision to withdraw the case was influenced by appeals from respected Nigerians and concern over Portable’s worsening situation after his arrest in Kwara State.

In a statement released by his management, Osupa stressed that the case was never personal but meant to uphold dignity and discipline in the entertainment industry.

“This was about principle, not pride,” the statement read. “There is a dangerous rise in cyberbullying and reckless talk among younger artists. This action was a line in the sand.”

Portable was earlier remanded in custody after failing to meet tough bail conditions, including one million naira and two sureties—one of whom must be a current PMAN official.

Moved by the public interventions and Portable’s inability to secure bail, Osupa said he has decided to forgive, but not forget.

The lawsuit has been dropped, but not without strings.

Portable must publicly retract his inflammatory statement that implied Osupa would be responsible if anything bad happened to him.

He must also admit that claims by his lawyer about a supposed apology meeting—where he allegedly begged Osupa for forgiveness—were false.

Most importantly, he must sign a written commitment never to engage in defamation, cyberbullying or character attacks again.

The management made it clear: any breach of these terms will see the legal action reinstated.

Osupa’s move may signal a desire for peace, but it also sends a strong message that fame without discipline will not be tolerated.

The ball is now in Portable’s court.

A viral video from a Chinese factory has set the internet ablaze after revealing that a Hermès Birkin bag, which fetches up to thirty eight thousand dollars in retail stores, costs as little as one thousand four hundred dollars to produce.

The video, which is part of the rising “Trade War TikTok” trend, broke down the production costs of the iconic status symbol.

According to the footage, four hundred and fifty dollars goes into sourcing European leather, twenty five dollars is spent on premium French thread, while stainless steel hardware accounts for one hundred and fifty dollars.

Other materials, including suede lining, edge paint, and zippers, add to the tally, with labor and packaging keeping the total between one thousand and one thousand four hundred dollars.

The revelation comes at a critical time, as tensions between China and the United States escalate and Chinese manufacturers continue to lift the curtain on their work for luxury giants such as Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Chanel.

The exposé has reignited fierce debate over luxury markups, with consumers worldwide questioning the true value of high end fashion at a time of increasing economic strain.
