The Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), has reminded residents to file their annual income tax returns before the March 31, 2025, deadline or face penalties.
In a statement on Wednesday, Head of Corporate Communications, Mustapha Sumaila, emphasized that tax filing is mandatory for all employees, business owners, self-employed individuals, and public office holders in the FCT.
Defaulters risk fines, a best of judgment assessment, and possible legal action under the Personal Income Tax Act.
Acting Executive Chairman, Michael Ango, urged residents to comply voluntarily, stressing that timely tax payments are essential for funding infrastructure and public services in the FCT.
