Gunmen stormed Dnako village in Abuja’s Bwari Central Ward at midnight on Tuesday, kidnapping the village head, HRH Etsu Yuda Garba, his two grandchildren, and five other residents in a brazen attack.

The heavily armed assailants, some dressed in military uniforms, invaded multiple homes before seizing the traditional ruler and his grandchildren, Ephraim and Philemon.

Among the abducted was Nicholas, a man who had just returned from the hospital where his wife had given birth.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers operated for about 30 minutes before escaping with their captives, firing gunshots to deter any pursuit.

Soldiers arrived after the kidnappers had fled and are reportedly tracking them.

Authorities in Bwari confirmed the incident, but official police responses remain unavailable.

The attack adds to a growing wave of insecurity in the area, prompting residents to urge FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to take urgent action.
