The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recovered 19 stolen vehicles snatched from different locations in Abuja between January and February 2025.
FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that the vehicles were traced to Jos, Niger, Kaduna, and parts of the FCT.
The recoveries were made by multiple police units, including Mpape Division (three vehicles), Central Police Station (two), and the Anti-Car Theft Unit (one), with others retrieved by divisions in Maitama, Bwari, Trademore, Mabushi, Utako, Gwarimpa, Durumi, and Kubwa.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olatunji Disu, reaffirmed the force’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to install tracking devices, steering locks, and alarm systems to deter theft.
He also cautioned against parking in isolated areas and advised heightened vigilance.
