The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has neutralized a notorious kidnap kingpin, Salisu Mohammed, popularly known as Dogo Saleh, in a decisive crackdown on criminal syndicates terrorizing the region.

Acting on intelligence, the police tracked and intercepted the 21-year-old bandit in Gidan Abe Forest while he attempted to enter Bwari Area Council.

A feared hitman for bandit leaders operating from Rijana Forest in Kaduna, Saleh was linked to multiple high-profile kidnappings and murders, including attacks along major highways.

During his capture, he abandoned an AK-49 rifle, two loaded magazines, and N3 million in ransom proceeds.

While leading police to his gang’s hideout in Kwasau Forest, his armed accomplices launched an ambush in an attempted rescue.

In the ensuing shootout, Saleh was fatally wounded by crossfire from his own gang.

He was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

FCT Police Commissioner Olatunji Disu commended the operatives for their bravery, assuring residents that the crackdown on criminal networks will continue until total security is restored.
