The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has launched a high-level investigation into allegations of corruption involving senior officers, vowing to hold those found guilty accountable.
This follows a viral video exposing customs officers allegedly mistreating citizens, prompting the Seme Area Command to swiftly condemn the act and initiate a probe.
The NCS reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct, pledging to uphold integrity and professionalism.
Meanwhile, Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has inaugurated an independent panel to investigate corruption claims, including allegations against Kuje Custodial Centre head Iloafonsi Ikechukwu, accused of extorting and intimidating inmates.
As scrutiny intensifies, the Customs Service and other agencies face mounting pressure to root out corruption and restore public trust.
