The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has issued a bold ultimatum to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, demanding his immediate resignation or warning of impeachment proceedings by the State House of Assembly.

At a press conference in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor LGA, APC leader Chief Tony Okocha accused Fubara of undermining reconciliation efforts, despite peace moves initiated by President Bola Tinubu.

He described the situation as a “keg of gunpowder,” insisting the governor must step down or be removed.

Okocha further accused Fubara of disrespecting President Tinubu, asserting that Supreme Court rulings provide enough grounds for his impeachment.

He dismissed the governor’s reconciliation attempt with 27 pro-Wike lawmakers as a “Greek gift,” calling it legally questionable and belated.

The APC leader warned that the party would resist any further negotiations, emphasizing that defying Supreme Court judgments was akin to “bringing pest-infested firewood home.”

With political tensions escalating, APC has made its stance clear—Governor Fubara must resign or face impeachment.
