The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA), has debunked claims circulating on social media that subsidies for Antiretroviral (ARV), drugs have been withdrawn, leading to exorbitant costs.
In a statement on Sunday, NACA’s Director-General, Dr. Temitope Ilori, dismissed reports that ARV drugs would cost N250,000 per dose and N500,000 monthly as false and misleading.
She reassured Nigerians that HIV treatment remains free at government-approved health facilities, thanks to ongoing support from PEPFAR, the Global Fund, and other development partners.
Ilori urged the public to rely on credible sources for health information, emphasizing that access to HIV treatment remains uninterrupted.
