Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are set for high-level talks to address persistent visa challenges faced by Nigerians.
The decision was revealed during a courtesy visit by UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Alshamsi, to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, in Abuja.
Odumegwu-Ojukwu emphasized Nigeria’s strong economic ties with the UAE and urged for clearer visa guidelines to ease travel and investment concerns.
Alshamsi assured that progress was being made, noting that over 700 tourism visas had been issued since July 2024.
Both nations agreed to convene a Joint Commission meeting to finalize agreements and boost cooperation in critical sectors, including power and renewable energy.
