In a heartfelt Ramadan gesture, the Jahun Local Government Council has provided food items and cash support to 220 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), across its 11 wards.
Announcing the initiative on March 9, 2025, the council’s chairman, Alhaji Jamilu Danmalam, emphasized the importance of inclusion and compassion.
Each beneficiary received a bag of rice, a carton of spaghetti, and N5,000 in cash to ease their Ramadan fasting.
Danmalam urged the community to extend kindness to PWDs, stressing that their condition is not a fault but a test from Allah (SWT).
In response, the Area Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Adamu Shuaibu, lauded the council’s generosity and called on other leaders to emulate the move.
This initiative reinforces Jahun LGA’s commitment to social welfare, ensuring that no one is left behind during the holy month.
