Amid rising political tension in Rivers State, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has invited 27 lawmakers loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike for a high-stakes meeting scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025.
The invitation, conveyed through a letter from Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, was addressed to Speaker Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule.
It follows Fubara’s receipt of the Certified True Copy of a Supreme Court judgment.
Top on the agenda are key governance issues, including securing a venue for legislative sittings, settling outstanding allowances for lawmakers, and deliberating on the 2025 budget.
The meeting, set for 10 a.m. at Government House, Port Harcourt, signals Fubara’s strategic move to ease political tensions and assert control over the state’s legislative landscape.
