President Bola Tinubu has extended warm birthday wishes to his longtime ally and former Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, as he marks his 68th birthday.
In a statement issued on Saturday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), Tinubu praised Osinbajo’s contributions to Nigeria’s governance, describing him as a loyal partner in progress.
Highlighting Osinbajo’s tenure as Vice President from 2015 to 2023, Tinubu acknowledged his role in driving key infrastructural projects alongside former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He also recalled Osinbajo’s brief but impactful stint as Acting President during Buhari’s medical leave.
The President lauded Osinbajo’s legacy as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos during his administration, noting that they worked together to implement transformative legal and political reforms.
Despite their contest for the APC presidential ticket in 2023, Tinubu reaffirmed their enduring friendship.
“Professor Yemi Osinbajo will always remain my friend and associate. He served our country with distinction and upheld the values of our great party,” Tinubu stated.
He joined Osinbajo’s family, especially his wife, Dolapo, and their children, in celebrating the distinguished professor, wishing him continued success and good health.
