President Bola Tinubu has appointed former INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega, as Special Adviser and Coordinator for Presidential Livestock Reform, signaling a major push for agricultural transformation.
The announcement, made by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, highlights Jega’s role in driving sustainable reforms within Nigeria’s livestock sector.
His appointment follows his co-chairmanship of the Presidential Livestock Committee, which recommended the creation of a dedicated Ministry for Livestock.
At 68, Jega, known for his electoral reforms, now takes on a critical assignment to enhance livestock productivity and food security.
His expertise is expected to shape policies that will modernize the sector and boost national development.
