Funeral Horror: Man Stabbed to Death During Mass in Cross River

A funeral mass in Ikot Etim Bott Community, Akpabuyo, Cross River State, descended into chaos when a man, identified as Gideon Gabriel Eyoh Nwosu, was brutally stabbed to death in broad daylight.

The horrifying attack occurred at 9:10 AM during the farewell mass for the late Chief Maurice Ibok.

Witnesses were left in shock as the suspect, Efio Effiong, allegedly plunged a knife into the victim’s throat before fleeing the scene.

While the motive remains unclear, panic erupted among mourners as they watched in disbelief.

A distress call to law enforcement prompted the swift arrival of Sting Unit Robot police operatives, who evacuated the victim’s body to the State Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Authorities have since launched a manhunt for Effiong, intensifying efforts to track down the fugitive.

The gruesome murder has left the community in fear, turning a solemn occasion into a scene of terror.
