Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called for greater empowerment and inclusion of women in governance, warning against the suppression of their voices.
In a statement on International Women’s Day, Atiku praised Nigerian women for their resilience and contributions to nation-building but expressed concern over gender exclusion in leadership, citing the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as an unfair move against representation.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing women’s rights, emphasizing that a nation’s progress depends on the space it gives women to thrive.
