A 52-year-old man, Salihu Byezhe, tragically passed away after collapsing during Subhi (early morning) prayers at a mosque in Gudaba village, Kuje Area Council, Abuja.
Eyewitnesses said Byezhe had observed Sahur (pre-dawn meal) before attending the mosque on Thursday when he suddenly slumped mid-prayer.
Worshippers rushed him to a hospital in Kuje, but he was pronounced dead on arrival. Medical personnel cited high blood pressure as the likely cause.
His son, who was present during the incident, accompanied him to the hospital, where doctors confirmed his death.
Byezhe was buried at 10:12 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, in accordance with Islamic customs.
