The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 73 suspects in a late-night raid on criminal hideouts across Maitama, Kurudu, Galadima, and Karmo in Abuja.

According to counterterrorism expert Zagazola Makama, the operation—led by the Anti-Narcotic Unit—uncovered Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.

Makama stated that suspects are currently undergoing screening, with those found guilty set to face prosecution.

He also identified Nyanya night market and Karu Abattoir as key drug hotspots, while security sources linked major supply routes to Kano, Kaduna, and the South-West.

Security analysts are now calling for tighter enforcement, dismantling of drug networks, and stricter regulations on logistics companies suspected of aiding drug distribution.
