The Nigerian Senate is set to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months following recommendations from its Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct.

The committee, led by Senator Neda Imasuen, cited alleged violations of Senate rules and proposed that the Kogi Central senator be barred from the National Assembly premises, stripped of legislative privileges, and prohibited from representing Nigeria in any official capacity during the suspension.

The move comes amid a heated dispute between Senator Natasha and Senate President Godswill Akpabio, which started over seating arrangements but escalated when she accused Akpabio of sexual harassment.

The Senate is expected to vote on the recommendation, which could see her ousted from legislative duties from March 6, 2025.
