A coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), has thrown its weight behind Senate President Godswill Akpabio, urging him to stay focused despite recent sexual harassment allegations, which he has denied.

Under the Stay Alert Human Rights Awareness Initiative, the CSOs described the accusations as baseless distractions meant to undermine democracy and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement on Thursday, Executive Director Lary Onah praised Akpabio’s leadership, calling it impactful and gender-inclusive.

He also criticized Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, urging her to apologize and retract her claims.

The group announced plans for a solidarity march in support of Akpabio and the country’s leadership.
