To bolster agricultural development and vocational training in Nigeria’s capital, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Milan, Italy, for a series of high-level meetings aimed at forging strategic partnerships.

Touching down early Wednesday morning, Wike was received by Nigeria’s Charge d’Affaires in Italy, Ambassador Mustapha Mohammed.

His visit is expected to unlock opportunities in modern agriculture and skills development, key sectors that could drive economic growth in the FCT.

A major highlight of the trip is his scheduled meeting with Attilio Fontana, President of the Lombardy Region, on Thursday.

Lombardy, often referred to as Italy’s economic powerhouse, is renowned for its cutting-edge agribusiness sector and world-class vocational training systems.

Discussions will center on leveraging Lombardy’s expertise to enhance food production and job creation in Abuja.

Wike will also engage agribusiness investors and vocational training experts, seeking collaborations that can reshape FCT’s workforce and agricultural sector.

Accompanying him are top FCT officials, including Dr. Danlami Hayyo (Education), Lawan Geidam (Agriculture), Dr. Udo Samuel Atang (Administration), and Barrister Benedict Daudu (Legal Affairs).

With Abuja aiming to attract investments and implement innovative solutions, Wike’s visit signals a bold step toward transforming the FCT’s economic landscape.
