The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has announced a new daily energy transmission record, marking a milestone for the nation’s power sector.
On March 2, 2025, at 21:30 hours, power generation peaked at 5,713.60 megawatts (MW), surpassing the previous record of 5,543.20MW set on February 14 by 170.40MW.
Additionally, Nigeria recorded its highest-ever daily energy transmission on March 1, delivering 125,542.06 megawatt-hours (MWh); a 382.58MWh increase from the previous peak.
While still below the all-time maximum of 5,801.60MW recorded in 2021, TCN described the achievement as a significant boost for the sector.
