The Housing Development Advocacy Network (HDAN) has urged FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to ensure land allocations go only to credible developers, warning against speculators who acquire and resell plots for profit.
HDAN Executive Director, Barrister Festus Adebayo, raised concerns on Monday in Abuja over the growing trend of land speculation, where Certificates of Occupancy are traded by politicians and middlemen instead of being used for real development.
Adebayo called on Wike to scrutinize land beneficiaries to prevent hoarding and ensure allocated plots contribute to housing growth rather than being flipped at exorbitant prices.
