The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has inaugurated a special task force to combat illegal developments and enforce building regulations across Abuja.

Speaking at the inauguration in Wuse, the Coordinator of the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Felix Obuah, stressed the need to identify and monitor ongoing construction projects to ensure compliance with approved building plans.

He directed the task force to issue contravention notices and enforce penalties, including fines, revocation of approvals, or demolition of non-compliant structures.

Obuah, represented by the Director of Development Control, Mukhtar Galadima, emphasized collaboration with other FCTA departments and professional bodies to enhance enforcement efforts.

The task force, chaired by Osah Gabriel Azunuka, consists of experts tasked with conducting inspections and curbing unauthorized developments.

The initiative underscores the FCTA’s commitment to orderly urban growth and strict adherence to development regulations in the nation’s capital.
