Former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that political instability during his tenure prevented him from implementing the recommendations of the 2014 National Conference.
Speaking in Lagos while paying a condolence visit to the family of the late Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Jonathan said the political climate at the time was too volatile for such a move.
According to him, key legislators from his party defected and worked against his administration, making it impossible to present the report.
However, he expressed hope that a future government would review and adopt its recommendations.
The visit, which was attended by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other dignitaries, also celebrated Adebanjo’s legacy as a fearless advocate for truth and justice.
