The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested six suspects in Kazaure Local Government Area for vandalizing public infrastructure and receiving stolen items.

Police spokesperson SP Lawan Shiisu, in a statement on Monday, confirmed that five suspects, aged 28 to 53, were caught vandalizing streetlights, armored cables, and conduit service wires.

A sixth suspect, 30-year-old Musa Yahaya, was arrested for allegedly buying stolen government property.

Two of the suspects were nabbed on February 26 in Bandutsi, while three others were caught on February 28 attempting to steal high-tension wires in Faru and Daba villages.

Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed and implicated Yahaya as the receiver of the stolen goods.

All six suspects have been charged in court.
