The Network for the Actualisation of Social Growth and Viable Development (NEFGAD), has praised President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly for restoring transparency and accountability in Nigeria’s budgeting process.
Following the signing of the N54.99 trillion 2025 budget, NEFGAD commended the removal of unauthorized capital project insertions, a move seen as a step toward fiscal discipline and economic efficiency.
Akingunola Omoniyi, NEFGAD’s head of office, described the reform as unprecedented, stating it will boost public confidence in government spending and ensure funds are properly allocated for national development.
The group urged stakeholders to support continued vigilance and accountability in public finance management to sustain these gains.
