Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to training 1,000 youths annually in vocational skills to boost employment and human capital development.
Speaking at the graduation of 250 youths under the Ododo Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Programme (OYESA), the governor emphasized that the initiative equips participants with industry-relevant skills to enhance employability.
The training, conducted in partnership with the Nigeria-Korea Friendship Institute, covered nine specialized fields, including automotive mechatronics, welding, software development, and solar power installation. Some graduates have already secured jobs.
Governor Ododo assured that graduates would receive starter packs and engagement in government projects, ensuring their economic empowerment and positioning Kogi as a hub for vocational expertise.
