The 2025 Nyesom Wike FCT School Sports Festival is set to resume on Tuesday, at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, following last-minute intervention by the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Director of School Sports in the FCT, Mallam Hashimu Adamu Ojah, confirmed that uncertainties over stadium access had briefly stalled Track and Field events.
However, NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko swiftly directed stadium management to grant immediate access, clearing the road for competitions to proceed.
While some events will be rescheduled, Board Games like Chess, Scrabble, Ludo, and Ayo remain unaffected.
The festival’s Grand Finale on February 27 will feature the highly anticipated Blue Riband races and relays.
Revived last year after a 28-year hiatus, the FCT School Sports Festival continues to foster youth development in sports, drawing participation from primary and secondary school students across the region.
