Frustration is mounting among National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), members as the Federal Government delays the payment of their approved N77,000 monthly allowance.

Despite an official announcement that the increase from N33,000 would take effect in February 2025, corps members received only the old rate last month.

Many have slammed the government for making false promises, describing the current allowance as grossly inadequate amid rising living costs.

“The N33,000 can’t even cover rent and feeding. How do they expect us to survive?” a corps member lamented.

The NYSC has yet to issue an official explanation, fueling further discontent among affected corps members.
