The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Baptist Conference celebrated its 10th anniversary on Wednesday, commending FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, for his efforts in infrastructure development.

Speaking at the event, the Conference President, Rev. Dr. Gwana Dogara Raphael, highlighted the organization’s evolution from the former United Baptist Conference, which previously covered Abuja, Nasarawa, and Benue.

Themed “When the Righteous Pray” (James 5:16b), the anniversary session focused on spiritual and national concerns, including economic hardship, security, and governance.

Rev. Raphael decried the soaring cost of living, stating that Nigerians deserve solutions beyond palliatives.

He called on the government to implement policies with a “human face” to ease the suffering of citizens.

On security, he acknowledged recent military successes but urged authorities to expose the sponsors of crime and terrorism.

He also condemned moves to introduce Sharia law in the Southwest, warning against policies that could marginalize non-Muslims.

Applauding Wike’s leadership in the FCT, the clergy noted that long-abandoned roads are now being completed, easing traffic congestion.

He assured that the Conference would continue to pray for national transformation and civic responsibility.

As the FCT Baptist Conference looks ahead, its leaders remain committed to faith-driven advocacy for a safer, prosperous Nigeria.
