A fresh political storm has erupted in the Senate as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of persistent disrespect and political persecution after she allegedly rejected his sexual advances.
Speaking on Arise TV on Friday, the senator representing Kogi Central likened her ordeal to a student being unfairly punished by a lecturer for refusing inappropriate demands.
“My case is a case of a student being punished by a lecturer for refusing to sleep with him,” she stated.
The claim adds another layer to the ongoing tensions between Akpoti-Uduaghan and Akpabio, which have seen heated exchanges in the Senate, including a recent controversy over seating arrangements that led to her being ordered out of the chamber.
While Akpabio is yet to respond to these latest allegations, the accusation has ignited widespread reactions, with political observers questioning the implications for legislative integrity and gender dynamics in Nigerian politics.
