Panic gripped Abuja residents as armed men staged a brazen late-night attack near Abacha Barracks bypass in Guzape, abducting several motorists and passengers.
The incident, which occurred around 11:31 p.m. on Tuesday, saw the gunmen block the road, seize their victims, and flee into the surrounding bushes, leaving behind abandoned vehicles.
Security sources revealed that a black Toyota Prado Land Cruiser (Abuja RBC 900 SF), reportedly belonging to Hon. Shagala Samuel, and a Honda Civic (RSH 181 TH) were found at the scene, indicating that their occupants might be among the abducted.
Efforts to track the kidnappers have so far yielded no results, despite security operatives combing the area.
In response, the FCT Police Command has placed its Anti-Kidnapping Unit on high alert, vowing to intensify rescue efforts and curb the rising wave of abductions in the capital.
