Catholic Television of Nigeria (CTV), will officially migrate to the GOTV platform on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025, marking a significant expansion in its broadcasting reach.
In a press release signed by the Director of Communications, Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, and Director of CTV, Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Alumuku, PhD, the station announced that this move aligns with its vision of strengthening the Catholic Church’s presence on major digital platforms.
CTV, which began in 2009, was initially planned for DAARSAT, a satellite project by High Chief Raymond Dokpesi. When DAARSAT did not launch, the station secured airtime on AIT, introducing the devotional program A Light for the Nation on January 1, 2010.
It has since grown into a 24-hour channel, broadcasting on NigComSat’s OUR TV since 2018.
The management is calling on Catholics and businesses to support the station through funding, equipment donations, and advertising to ensure its sustainability.
