Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has slammed the recent Osun State local government election as a waste of taxpayers’ money.
Speaking in Osogbo on Tuesday, Oyintiloye argued that the election was illegal following the Court of Appeal’s reinstatement of the previously sacked APC council chairmen.
He insisted that the state government would eventually be held accountable for the funds spent.
He called on the Federal Government to resume monthly allocations to the reinstated chairmen to drive grassroots development, which he claimed has stalled since their removal in 2022.
Commending the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for maintaining peace and professionalism, Oyintiloye urged council staff to return to work, assuring them of adequate security to support local governance and restore development in the state.
