FG Seeks Global Backing for Northern Entertainment Boom

The Federal Government has called for international support to boost the Arewa entertainment sector, citing its potential as a multi-billion-dollar industry and a catalyst for economic growth.

Speaking at the Arewa Turn Up 2.0 event in Abuja, Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, highlighted the creative industry’s capacity to generate opportunities for Nigerian youth.

Represented by Jibrin Ndace, Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, Idris urged financial institutions and global stakeholders to invest in the sector, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Ali Nuhu, Kannywood star and head of the Nigerian Film Corporation, emphasized the government’s commitment to empowering young creatives through upcoming training and post-training support programs.

The event, organized by Rahama Sadau and Ali Jita, showcased northern Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage through live performances, aiming to elevate indigenous talent and spotlight the region’s vast tourism potential on the global stage.
