Residents of Saburi in Abuja’s Municipal Area Council are celebrating a long-awaited turnaround, thanks to Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Minister Nyesom Wike’s infrastructure drive.
Traditional ruler Muhammad Yamawo hailed Wike for ending years of neglect by constructing an access road and police station, transforming the community’s security and economy.
“We suffered for years without good roads, but Wike has wiped our tears,” Yamawo said during a project inspection.
The newly built Saburi-Dei Dei road has not only eased transportation but also boosted job creation for local youths.
The FCT Administration is also building 12 divisional police stations and six police staff quarters across the territory.
The Saburi project, overseen by architect Nuhu Musa, is 70% complete, with hopes of finishing ahead of schedule.
Director of Security Services, Adamu Gwari, emphasized that these projects stem from Wike’s commitment to enhancing security after engaging with residents across all six area councils.
“This initiative brings security infrastructure closer to the people,” Gwari noted.
For Saburi, the changes are already making life safer and more hopeful.
