In a bold step to revolutionize Nigeria’s interior design and furniture sector, the Abuja Interior and Furniture Expo has launched its maiden digital edition—marking a significant stride toward integrating technology with creativity and craftsmanship.

The virtual event, officially inaugurated on Friday by Project Coordinator Faisal Jafar Rafindadi, stands as a milestone in promoting digital innovation within the industry.

Rafindadi described the expo as a transformative platform designed to connect professionals, manufacturers, and enthusiasts while advancing the federal government’s Renewed Hope agenda for economic growth through digital technology.

“This virtual expo creates a unique space for networking, collaboration, and exploring groundbreaking possibilities,” Rafindadi stated during the opening ceremony in Abuja.

The two-day event, organized in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, and the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology, promises attendees interactive workshops, expert-led keynote sessions, and innovative product demonstrations that highlight the evolving landscape of interior design and furniture manufacturing.

Dr. Kabir Mustapha, Director of Mobilization, emphasized the pivotal role of digital platforms in boosting economic opportunities.

“As Nigeria’s first-ever virtual expo in this sector, this initiative underscores our commitment to leveraging technology for national growth and development,” he said.

Participants are offered an immersive experience through virtual exhibition booths, networking sessions, and access to potential business partnerships—an unprecedented move that signals Nigeria’s readiness to embrace the global digital economy.

Dr. Mustapha also recognized the support of key partners, including the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen under the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).

He announced plans to transition the expo into a physical format later this year, expanding its reach and solidifying its impact on the industry.

“This innovation allows us to connect with a broader audience, foster international collaborations, and redefine how we engage with the future of interior and furniture design,” Mustapha added.

This pioneering event is set to reshape the industry landscape, blending technology with tradition to propel Nigeria’s creative economy onto the global stage.
