The Federal Government has strengthened Nigeria’s tax dispute resolution system with the swearing-in of 49 new commissioners for the Tax Appeal Tribunal (TAT).
Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, administered the oath of office on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja.
The Tax Appeal Tribunal, established under the FIRS Act 2007, plays a crucial role in ensuring fairness and transparency in tax administration.
Coordinating Secretary Anita Erinne reaffirmed the tribunal’s commitment to fostering confidence in the tax system, while Hon. Aderibigbe Adedeji SAN, speaking on behalf of the commissioners, pledged their dedication to upholding justice.
With tribunals across the six geopolitical zones, Lagos, and the FCT, the newly appointed commissioners are set to assume their duties immediately, marking a renewed drive for efficiency in tax dispute resolution.
