The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has launched the Leadership Enhancement and Development Programme (LEAD-P) to train 100 officers, reinforcing leadership capacity in the civil service.
Speaking at the program’s opening, FCTA Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, stated that the initiative, approved by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, is designed for officers on Grade Levels 10–14 to prepare them for key leadership roles, including directors and permanent secretaries.
Adayilo emphasized that LEAD-P will be an annual initiative to ensure a steady pipeline of skilled leaders, fostering a culture of succession planning and professional growth.
Permanent Secretary, Common Services, Babatunde Rotimi Ajayi, described the trainees as the “elite crop of civil servants”, expected to drive efficiency and innovation.
Dr. Jummai Ahmadu, Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, highlighted that the seven-month training aligns with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP 2025) to modernize governance.
The program aims to enhance capacity, leadership skills, and service delivery within the FCTA, ensuring long-term institutional excellence.
