A joint security task force in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has neutralized three suspected armed robbers, injured three others, and recovered an AK-47 rifle in a midnight operation.
FCT Police Commissioner Olatunji Rilwan Disu confirmed that the operation, conducted in collaboration with the military and local vigilantes, was launched after a distress call reported a robbery at Filing Dabo village in Dei Dei.
Upon arrival, the six-man gang attempted to flee into the bushes and ambushed the security team.
However, the operatives responded with superior firepower, engaging the criminals in a fierce gunfight.
Weapons and other incriminating items were also recovered.
