Nigerian music star Ayra Starr has made history at the 2025 MOBO Awards, becoming the first female artist in 16 years to win Best African Act.
The Mavin Records sensation also claimed the Best International Act award, beating global stars like Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, and Megan Thee Stallion.
Her double victory highlights Afrobeats’ growing global influence, as the MOBO Awards continue to celebrate excellence in Black music and culture.
