The Nigerian government is intensifying efforts to establish a functional e-governance system, targeting the digitization of at least 75% of public services by 2027.
Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa, disclosed this during a meeting with a delegation from the Ukrainian Embassy in Nigeria.
He revealed that NITDA is developing a one-stop digital platform modeled after successful e-governance systems in countries like the United Kingdom and Kenya.
Inuwa emphasized the need for legal backing to facilitate the transition, noting that digital government services thrive on well-defined policies and robust technological frameworks.
“If we want to achieve this, we need the right laws in place to ensure a smooth and effective digital transformation,” he stated.
