The Department of State Services (DSS) has refuted claims that its operatives invaded the Lagos State House of Assembly, stating that their presence was based on an official invitation.

According to the DSS, Acting Clerk of the Assembly, Mr. ATB Ottun, requested security reinforcement to prevent an alleged plan to reinstate impeached Speaker Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

A letter dated February 14, 2025, from the Assembly management to security agencies warned of a possible forceful reinstatement on February 18, prompting the DSS to take precautionary measures.

The agency emphasized that its deployment was strictly to maintain order and prevent any security threats within the Assembly premises.
