On February 17, 2025, the Police Service Commission (PSC) appointed Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.

With a robust background that spans roles such as Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner in multiple departments, and most recently Commissioner for the Ports Authority in Eastern Ports, Jimoh brings extensive operational expertise and international training to his new position.

Hailing from Kwara State, Jimoh is well-regarded for his contributions to police public relations—earning him the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year from the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.

His professional development includes advanced courses in combat operations, countermeasures against weapons of mass destruction, maritime rescue, and anti-hijacking, with training received in Maiduguri, Darfur, the U.S., China, and Seoul.

PSC spokesman Ikechukwu Ani confirmed that Jimoh finalized his appointment before the commission, setting the stage for his leadership of Lagos State’s police force.
