The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has expressed strong support for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC)’s initiatives aimed at improving road safety across Nigeria.
During a recent meeting with FRSC Corps Marshal Malam Shehu Mohammed in Sokoto, the Sultan emphasized the critical need to address prevalent traffic violations, including overloading, mix-loading, and speeding.
He called for a collaborative effort among stakeholders to curb road indiscipline and reduce the significant human and material losses resulting from traffic incidents.
Additionally, the Sultan advocated for diversifying transportation modes, particularly by enhancing the railway system for goods transport, to alleviate the heavy reliance on road networks and subsequently decrease road accidents.
