The operations, bolstered by intelligence gathering and technical support, led to the capture of suspects aged between 20 and 40.

On February 13, Aminu was arrested at Akure Garage in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East Local Government Area, which subsequently led to the arrest of 25-year-old Abdullah Abubakar.

Further operations on February 14 and 15 resulted in the detention of four additional suspects: Yusuf Saidu (22), Nafiu Ibrahim (32), Mohammed Anas (20), and Kabiru Mohammed (24).

In a separate incident in Ipele, Owo Local Government Area, a woman was abducted from her residence.

Prompt action by the police, in collaboration with local youths, led to her rescue and the recovery of an AK-49 rifle at the scene.

Intelligence-led efforts also culminated in the arrest of 27-year-old Yusuf Suleiman, implicated in the abduction.

Additionally, the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad apprehended 40-year-old ex-convict Ishaku Abdul, recently released from prison, who is suspected of involvement in recent kidnappings in the region. All suspects were previously on the police’s wanted list.

These arrests underscore the ongoing efforts by Ondo State law enforcement to combat kidnapping and enhance public safety.
