The Oron Youth Movement in Akwa Ibom State has decried the underrepresentation of the Oron ethnic group in Governor Umo Eno’s recent commissioner and special adviser nominations.
In a protest letter to the governor, the group, led by its National President, Edet Eyo, called for a fairer distribution, noting that out of 27 nominees, the Ibibios got 17 slots, the Annang seven, while Oron received only two, and Eastern Obolo/Ibeno one.
Describing the allocation as a continuation of systemic marginalization, the group urged Governor Eno to reassess the list to ensure equity and inclusiveness in state governance.
